  • Then I will divide it into two. You see this stuffing ball is too big for the cavity of one chicken and the rest can simply be made into stuffing balls and cooked beside the chicken or make ahead for another meal.
  • You now have your stuffing ready to go for your chicken.

How To Stuff A Whole Chicken With Stuffing?

  • Once the stuffing is prepared, it’s time to stuff an entire bird with it.
  • To make it simple to fill the chicken, I advise holding it with the cavity looking up.
  • Then, until there is no more room, gradually add a little of your roast chicken stuffing at a time.
  • Then your chicken is stuffed and ready for the air fryer.

Oil – I recommend some extra virgin olive oil for the skin of your chicken. It will then produce amazing crispy skin that you will think has been roasted in the oven with loads of butter.  

Seasoning – I like to keep it simple with my air fryer roast chicken and will usually use salt, pepper, and a little oregano.

Then for the kitchen gadgets that we have used in this roast chicken and stuffing recipe, it has just been our Air Fryer. We have this one and its wonderful for many types of air fryer recipes and perfect for roast dinners.

How To Cook Stuffed Chicken In Air Fryer?

  • Stuffing. Prepare your filling first. I adore adding croutons to mine. They give your stuffing balls a great crunch. Therefore, as I prepare the remaining components for the stuffing, I will first make the air fryer croutons. Then I’ll form it into a stuffing ball so I can use it to fill the roast chicken.
  • Stuff. Fill the roast chicken’s cavity with your filling. You can form any leftover stuffing into balls and fry it around the chicken.
  • Prepare. The chicken needs to be prepared next. The chicken should be seasoned and oiled with the breast side facing up after the legs have been tied.
  • Cook.
  • Cook for 30 minutes after placing breast side up in the air fryer. After that, flip the chicken over and cook it for another 20 minutes on the other side with additional spice and oil.

How Long To Cook Stuffed Roast Chicken?

A filled roast chicken should be cooked in the air fryer for JUST 50 minutes. Over the years, we’ve conducted numerous tests with this and discovered that entering at a lower temperature is ideal.

For instance, I would cook a full chicken in an air fryer for 45 minutes at 180°C/360°F. However, we’ve discovered that cooking the chicken for a further 5 minutes at 170°C/340°F yields superior results because it’s filled.

Additionally, if you cook your filled chicken at a high temperature, the filling will cause it to burn and prevent the chicken from fully cooking.

I also adore how everyone praises the chicken, making it sound like I labored over it for hours. Maximum praise in the least amount of time! We’re aiming for that here.


  • Please keep in mind that any bird you purchase must fit in your basket. A 3 pound chicken fits in my 4.6 quart air fryer, but a 5 lb chicken wouldn’t fit in it.
  • Around 30 minutes before you plan to begin cooking the chicken, remove it from the refrigerator to allow it to thaw. It’s acceptable to forgo this extra time, although it might need cooking the food for an additional minute or two.
  • Brush the moist rub all over the chicken’s exterior, being sure to get into any cracks or crevices.

  • I’ve discovered that pre-heating the air fryer for a few minutes works best every time. Similar to an oven, it helps maintain a uniform cooking time and prevents food from adhering to the basket.
  • As a result, set your air fryer for a few minutes longer than you had originally planned. We’ll set it for 60 minutes in this instance.
  • Place the seasoned chicken breast-side down in the basket and start the timer after a 5-minute warm-up. Since the chicken is butter-coated, there is no need to oil the basket.

  • Being careful not to disturb the lovely crisping skin makes this a little difficult. The skin might tear if you try to grasp it in the middle with tongs. Instead, I spear it with two forks on either end, lift it out, and then rotate it before inserting it again.


Start testing the chicken’s internal temperature as the cooking time draws to a close. Check the breast without touching the bone because the thighs will cook and achieve the proper internal temperature faster.

It should attain a temperature of 165 degrees Fahrenheit inside. As you cook, check the temperature every five minutes until it is attained.

  • Salt and lemon pepper – To season the meat. We used kosher salt in this recipe and lemon pepper seasoning.
  • Paprika – We use it to help add color to the meat. It also has a sweet mild flavor.
  • Olive oil – This will help the dry seasoning stick to the chicken.

  • Whole chicken – This recipe calls for a 5 lb. whole chicken. Be sure that the bird size will fit in your air fryer basket.
  • Bell peppers & Onion (optional) – the bell pepper and onion are used to stuff in the chicken. They also help to flavor the chicken as it cooks.
  • Garlic powder – Provides a robust garlicky flavor and compliments the herbs.
  • Salt and pepper – To season the meat. I used kosher salt in this recipe and ground peppercorn.
  • Paprika – I use it to help add color to the meat. It also has a sweet mild flavor.
  • Melted butter & herbs – To base the bird halfway through to provide a crispy layer.
  • Olive oil spray – To spray the basket.


The practice of removing the chicken’s backbone from the tail to the neck dates back to the 18th century in Ireland.

The bird can lay flat with its wings open using this technique. As a result, the chicken cooks more quickly, reducing the overall cooking time.

Spatchcocking also enables you to season the bird more effectively.

Your chicken can be spatchcocked quite easily. A decent set of scissors or a sharp knife will be required.

  • The bird should be cleaned, with all the apparent fat and crud removed. Take out the gizzard and neck. Chicken parts should be removed or discarded.
  • The chicken should be turned over on its stomach and placed on a chopping board. Use the shears or scissors to cut the chicken on both sides from the tail to the neck.
  • Next, firmly press down to fracture the breastbone. After that, if desired, simply clip the wing tips. Your chicken has been successfully spatchcocked.


The method is simple.  In a mixing bowl, combine the salt, lemon pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika together. Set aside.


  • Wash your chicken thoroughly after you’ve spatchcocked or butterflied it.

  • Well combine the dry ingredients in a small bowl.
  • To help the seasoning adhere to the flesh, rub some olive oil over the chicken.
  • Apply the spice all over the meat (both inside and outside) with your hands or a spoon.
  • For 30 minutes, air fried the whole chicken at 350 degrees. If preferred, baste the chicken with melted butter and fresh herbs, or simply drizzle olive oil over it to keep it crisp. Cook for a further 15 to 20 minutes. Enjoy a warm serving.
  • You can serve rotisserie chicken with your favorite mashed potatoes, a side of delicious Haitian black rice, or your favorite garden salad.

Cooking any bird in the oven can be intimating. Especially if this is your first time. I always stick to the 350 degrees “rule” when I am not sure of what to do. However, as I became more comfortable, I have ventured off that rule a bit. To properly cook a whole bird in the oven without any fuss, below are the basic steps.

  • Pre-heat the oven to 350 degrees Fahrenheit (175 degrees C).
  • The chicken should then be put in a roasting pan after the oven reaches the aforementioned temperature. chicken with seasoning. Salt and pepper always work well when all else fails.
  • Bake the bird uncovered for 1 hour and 15 minutes with the breast down. Always read the label on the container as it may occasionally provide you with the precise amount of time to cook the chicken per pound.
