HOW DO YOU MAKE PEACH CRUMBLE OR STREUSEL

My peach crumble recipe is based on my classic apple crumble recipe… but uses tinned or fresh (poached) peaches instead of apples!

To make a deliciously crunchy peach crumble, you’ll need:

*scroll to the recipe card below for the ingredient quantities and the full detailed method

  • rolled oats – or substitute for quick oats if you prefer
  • brown sugar – either light or brown sugar is fine to use
  • plain flour
  • butter – either salted or unsalted butter is fine to use
  • poached fresh peaches – or tinned peaches

HOW TO POACH PEACHES

If you want to make our peach crumble recipe and skip the step of poaching peaches entirely, then you can use tinned peaches instead!

If not, here are my simple steps for poaching fresh peaches:

  • cut a small cross in the base of each fresh peach
  • add water, and vanilla bean. sugar and cinnamon into a large saucepan and bring to a simmer (see recipe card below)
  • add the peaches and cook for 15 minutes
  • allow to cool, then peel the peaches and slice them into chunks

HOW TO STORE PEACH CRUMBLE

Our peach crumble can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 3 days. Alternatively, it can be frozen for up to 3 months.
