  • Butter (or vegan butter). Makes the oat topping crisp and buttery.

  • The baked or unbaked dessert will defrost overnight in the refrigerator. Once it has defrosted, you can bake it per the directions on the package or just until it is heated through. A cooked crisp will need to be reheated for 20 to 30 minutes.


Separately prepare the crumble topping and apple filling. For up to a day, store each in the refrigerator in sealed containers. When it’s time to bake, top the apples with the crumble and proceed as instructed in the instructions below.
