Chicken with broccoli and carrots is a favorite meal for many. I like to make my chicken recipes from scratch using things that I have on hand in my kitchen. Here is a recipe that you can recreate in your own home. This easy recipe is a classic family dinner—and your kids will LOVE it! It will also help you make dinner prep easier.
Honey Garlic Chicken Stir Fry with Broccoli & Carrots
Around here, stir-fries and garlic are staple foods. Both of those ingredients are combined in this tasty and nutritious chicken stir fry with broccoli and carrots that the whole family will adore.
I don’t know where my adoration of garlic came from. My mother doesn’t like to cook with it, so she didn’t use it when I was a child. Whatever the case, Dean and I adore garlic, as do our three children. Four out of five of us also adore stir-fries, especially this one with broccoli and carrots and chicken and honey-garlic sauce. The lone holdout continues to receive his meal of chicken, rice, and vegetables separately.
A Healthy Dinner Option
This is a far healthier alternative than takeout because it is packed with broccoli and carrots. But the flavor is still fantastic!
Additionally, you may modify it to accommodate tastes and even food intolerances! Due to my own intolerance, I now make mine with coconut aminos rather than soy sauce. Simply substitute gluten-free soy sauce for regular soy sauce if someone in your home has a gluten sensitivity.

How Do You Make Honey Garlic Stir Fry?
You’ll need broccoli, carrots, soy sauce (or a substitute), honey, garlic, and boneless, skinless chicken breasts that have been chopped into cubes for your chicken stir fry.
In a heated pan with coconut oil, cook the chicken. Stir the sauce ingredients together while the chicken cooks. Remove the chicken from the pan once it is fully done. After that, add the vegetables to the pan and sauté them alongside the garlic until they are soft. Re-incorporate the chicken with the vegetables, then stir in the sauce and cook through.
How Do You Cook Chicken for Stir Fry?
To prepare chicken for stir-fries, my preferred method is to season it with salt and pepper before searing it in coconut oil in a hot skillet until it is browned and cooked through. Avoid packing too much flesh into the pan at once; if you do, the chicken will simmer rather than brown. The result will be mushy stir-fry!
Honey Garlic Chicken Variations
You can use whatever vegetables you like here. I typically go with carrots and broccoli because that’s what my family prefers. Other great options are:
- mushrooms
- onions
- snow peas
- green beans
- asparagus
What Kind of Sauce Do You Put in a Stir Fry?
Soy sauce, garlic, and other seasonings like sesame oil, ginger, rice vinegar, chicken broth, or chili sauce are the main ingredients in the majority of stir-fry sauces. A thickening agent, like cornstarch or tapioca starch, is an essential part of stir fry sauce. Your chicken and vegetables will stick to the sauce better if it is thicker.
There are two to three garlic cloves in this recipe because it is intended for garlic aficionados. If you’d rather, you can reduce it to just 1 clove; it will still taste good but have a bit less potency. For a tasty meal, serve it with coconut sticky rice!

WHAT IS COCONUT AMINOS?
Coconut aminos is a soy sauce substitute that has a lot less sodium and contains no soy. It truly tastes like a slightly sweet soy sauce!
WHAT SIZE SKILLET SHOULD YOU USE?
For all of my skillet dinners, I advise using an 11 or 12′′ pan. This will allow you to fit more food in the pan, ensuring speedy and even cooking. Your cooking time will be increased if you use a tiny skillet. Additionally, it makes it much more difficult to get the desired browning.
