Tiffany from Creme de la Crumb is here! There is no denying that I have a slight obsession with my slow cooker, or perhaps I should say slow cookers as I believe I own five of them. I use my slow cookers several times a week, and when our family gets together, I generally have several in use at once. I recently received a new one for Christmas, and I’m very happy about it.

This is a fantastic go-to recipe for weeknight meals. I adore the flavors, it’s really nutritious, and I can always have chicken with potatoes. What’s best? In one dish, both chicken and potatoes are prepared simultaneously. It’s fantastic! This easy crockpot dish is a favorite among even picky diners. I sincerely hope you adore it as much as my family does!

  • Combine chicken and potatoes in a large bowl. Pour oil over and whisk to coat. Then, mix the chicken and potatoes to evenly distribute the seasonings of salt, pepper, garlic powder, and Italian seasoning.
  • Transfer to a slow cooker (OR, as an alternative, cook the chicken and potatoes over medium-high heat for 2–3 minutes to brown before transferring to the slow cooker to finish cooking), cover, and cook for 4–6 hours on low, or until the chicken is thoroughly cooked and the potatoes are tender to the fork.
  • Serve hot and garnish with fresh herbs like oregano and thyme, if desired.

How should I serve Crockpot Italian chicken?

The ideal way to serve this creamy chicken is over cooked rice or cooked noodles of your choice. If you decide to use noodles, I suggest bowtie or penne noodles.

For sides, choose any salads or grilled vegetables of your choosing to go along with this creamy Italian chicken.

How long will it last?

In an airtight container in the fridge, this Italian chicken will stay fresh for about 3-4 days.

If you want to freeze it, that works too! It’ll stay fresh in the freezer for up to 3 months. When you’re ready to serve it, I recommend putting it back in the Crockpot on the low setting for a few hours. Stir it frequently.

How can I add even more flavor?

Even though the Italian ingredients are very flavorful, I realize that some individuals like a stronger kick. To your mixture, try adding some minced garlic and some dried oregano.

Freshly chopped parsley is always excellent as a garnish!

Recipe Tips and Notes

  • Avoid attempting to shred chicken in the Crockpot. Although it’s doable, once you start shredding, you’ll lose substantial parts of chicken. You can check to see that everything is chopped up equally in a smaller bowl.
  • Use one Italian dressing package rather than two if you’re attempting to cut back on your sodium intake. Even while the flavor won’t be as strong, it will still be fantastic!
  • This dish can be be prepared on the stovetop if your slow cooker isn’t working properly. Simply prepare the chicken as usual, then combine the sauce’s components in a big pot. When the sauce is done, stir in the chicken, and presto!

This flavorful midweek meal, Slow Cooker Zesty Italian Chicken, is simple to prepare. It’s filling, calming, and perfect for any season! This supper entree recipe is adaptable and can be served over pasta, rice, quinoa, or a bread.

I wanted to create another simple slow cooker chicken recipe that you guys would love just as much after my Crock Pot Crack Chicken Recipe became so well-liked with readers. With this recipe for Slow Cooker Zesty Italian Chicken, I believe I’ve found it.

It just takes a few minutes to prepare this dump-and-go chicken meal, after which time and the slow cooker do the work.

Although I used cream of chicken soup, it is still low in carbohydrates. This recipe is simple to make and delicious. It tastes like chicken and dumplings without the dumplings in slow cooker zesty italian chicken. The Zesty Italian Seasoning Mix, garlic, Parmesan, salt, and pepper that are added to the broth give it an amazing flavor. Truly!

This keeps well on the warm setting if necessary. Before lowering the heat, make sure the chicken is well cooked.

I enjoy pairing it with a deconstructed green bean bundle, an orange salad, or a wedge salad.

Slow Cooker Zesty Italian Chicken Tips

  1. Find my preferred slow cooker right here.
  2. I used chicken breasts without any bones or skin. If you don’t overcook it, it won’t dry out. In the Crock-Pot, chicken can be overcooked. Chicken without a bone or skin is simpler to shred. If you’d prefer, you may use bone-in chicken breasts or chicken thighs.
  3. I used Zesty Italian Seasoning as well. If your smaller children find this to be too much, use authentic Italian seasoning. The Italian seasoning mix packet should NOT be prepared. Immediately add the dry seasoning from the packet.
  4. Cream cheese should be cut into small bits. This will make melting it in the slow cooker simpler.

Can I cook this recipe on the stove?

Yes. To begin, combine the chicken with the rest of the ingredients in a casserole dish. After that, cover it and bake it for 40 to 45 minutes. Use two forks to shred it in the end.

Can I freeze Crock Pot Crack Chicken Recipe?

This chicken recipe freezes well as well. You can definitely prepare this cooked chicken days in advance and store it in your freezer as long as you freeze it in an airtight container and allow it to fully thaw before reheating.
