Dosage Of T3 For Weight Loss

92

Dosages of T3 for weight loss do vary, but the common recommendation is between 25 and 50 nano. The most important thing you can do before beginning a T3 diet or attempting to lose weight with the help of T3 pills like Cytomel, Zetia or Liothyronine is consult a physician so that your health can be examined. It is very dangerous to buy T3 off the internet.

What is T3 (Cytomel)?

Cytomel (T3) is used as a prescription medication to treat the common health problem of hypothyroidism which is where the thyroid gland is unable to produce enough thyroid hormone for normal functioning of the body’s metabolism.

As the metabolism is largely controlled by the thyroid hormone, hypothyroidism causes a slow metabolism and results in weight gain, fatigue and a range of other health issues.

It’s the effects on the metabolism that made Cytomel appealing to athletes and bodybuilders. Most of all, the potential for accelerated fat loss by boosting the metabolic rate. Only when used with a diet that’s calorie restricted, combined with a proper exercise regime will Cytomel have benefits for losing fat.

Cytomel should not be thought of as a miracle drug for weight loss, but rather an aid to potentially optimize the functioning of the metabolism.

Another similar hormone is T4, however T3 is considered much more powerful. It is available both as a pharmaceutical product and on the black market. It comes most commonly in tablet form, although injectable is also available however is not common or recommended. To legally obtain Cytomel via a pharmacy you require a prescription.

Cytomel is not currently listed as a prohibited substance in professional sports, but its lack of performance enhancement effects is unlikely to make this a drug that appeals to athletes for improving performance.

T3 Benefits

As you might expect, the main benefits of Cytomel relate to its relationship with the metabolism as a thyroid hormone. Regulation of the metabolism is what this thyroid hormone does in the body and when it is not functioning as it should, a person can have great difficulty in losing weight and often finds themself putting on weight without explanation.

This tells us that Cytomel T3 provides positive benefits for promoting an efficient metabolism that is working optimally for fat loss, and this is the main reason you will choose to use this drug. Let’s look at the specific benefits of T3:

Fat Loss

This is certainly the main and likely only benefit of interest to those using Cytomel. Its only other purpose is in treating hypothyroidism, so if you are using it for any other reason it will be to encourage fat loss.

By replicating the natural T3 hormone, the metabolic rate is enhanced. This does not directly lead to any noticeable weight loss though; you need to diet and exercise to take advantage of your now more efficiently functioning metabolism. The body will be in a position to burn more fat, and to burn it faster. If the diet is in a calorie deficit this fat burning will be noticeably quicker compared with dieting without Cytomel.

Cytomel comes with great benefits for losing fat, but there’s a catch to be aware of: it has no direct anabolic activity and it’s very likely that you will also lose lean muscle while supplementing with Cytomel. As the higher metabolic rate continues, the body needs more energy to burn and it will not take a preference for burning fat; therefore many users report loss of muscle.

This is a major issue for bodybuilding and athletic users who will not want to be losing muscle tissue. To avoid this problem, the majority of Cytomel users will want to add an anabolic steroid alongside Cytomel to act as a protective anabolic compound to assist with retaining muscle.

Side Effects

Once you get to the 100 mcg + range, you put yourself at a much higher risk of side effects like Tachycardia, muscle loss, anxiety, and feeling weak.

Side effects that will be notable at any dose, but will be more pronounced the higher you dose T3 will be increased body temperature, increased hunger, and in some cases (I get this) constant muscle flatness.

By muscle flatness I mean it is a lot harder to get a pump, and your muscles lack that pop that they have when they are properly glycogen loaded and hydrated.

That is one of the first things I look for when I am determining if my T3 is legit or not.

I get a notable increase in body temperature, and I notice I am much flatter at the gym and it’s a lot harder to get a pump.

My appetite starts getting a lot more ravenous once I go above 50 mcg as well.

At 75 mcg I am hungry pretty much all day long.

Offsetting The Muscle Loss From T3

The only way you can offset the catabolism from a high dose of T3 is with anabolic assistance.

Whichever compounds are used to achieve that, the fact remains that a supraphysiological amount of Anabolics will almost always be necessary to maintain 100% of one’s hard earned muscle tissue when venturing into the higher dosage range of T3.

Obviously it isn’t mandatory, but you will lose A LOT more muscle on T3 without any anabolic assistance than you would with it.

How Much Fat Loss Can You Expect From T3

I’m going to be completely honest with you as addressing this question specifically is the main reason why I wanted to write this article.

T3 is NOT some magical compound like some portray it to be that lets you eat whatever you want all day long and stay shredded.

Usually the individuals who perpetuate this myth about T3 consider “lean” as hardly visible abs.

For me though, being lean is being shredded at a single digit body fat %.

You CANNOT get to single digit body fat % by eating like crap on T3 just because you are on T3.

You still need to diet hard in a calorie deficit, keep training hard, and do your cardio; T3 will simply magnify how much body fat the body burns up during your cut.

I honestly think I could reach very close to the same body fat % I do during my cutting phases without T3 at all (I’d probably end my cut at 1-2% higher than I usually would), it would probably take me a month longer or so though.

Basically, T3 speeds everything up and makes things a bit easier.

It IS NOT an excuse to eat like crap though.

You can get fatter even on T3 + DNP if you overeat.

Trust me, I have.

Cytomel (T3) Dosage

Many can make the mistake in thinking that you need to substantially increase the dosage of Cytomel for performance enhancement compared to a standard dosage range when it’s being used to treat hypothyroidism, but this is not the case. As long as you’re not suffering a hypothyroidism condition, using the recommended medical dosage will still provide benefits. 25mcg per day is a standard starting dose for medical use of Cytomel.

Medical Cytomel (T3) Dosage

For the treatment of hypothyroidism, the normal medical Cytomel dosage is that of a starting dose of 25mcg per day. Following this, the patient assesses his or her reactions and tolerance to the drug and adjusts their Cytomel dosage by no more than 25mcg per day. The average maintenance T3 doses lie between 25 – 75mcg per day. Once the patient’s desired optimal dose is achieved, this dose remains steadily administered for the remainder of therapy.

Cytomel (T3) Dosage For Fat Loss

Bodybuilders and athletes who wish to use T3 for its weight loss and fat loss effects normally begins with a T3 dosage of 25 – 50mcg per day, and tolerance is assessed. Tolerance relates to the experience of metabolism and fat burning effects, as well as the temperature increase associated with it. Every individual will respond in a different manner and a different intensity to any one given Cytomel dosage, so it must be understood that a T3 dose of 50mcg for one individual might elicit steady fat loss, but that same 50mcg dose might not do very much for another.

Once tolerance is assessed after remaining at a 50mcg dose for a day or two, the individual should then increase their Cytomel dosage by an additional 25mcg every day (or every other day, depending on the individual’s experience) until a peak optimal dose is achieved. The typical peak dose for most male bodybuilders and athletes tends to lie in the range of 75 – 100mcg per day. Some have even ventured as high as 125mcg per day, though this is on the high end and is not normally recommended.

Female Cytomel (T3) Dosage

For the most part, the female response to the effects of Cytomel (T3) is the exact same as the male response. The only major difference in Cytomel dosage for females is that of the difference in body weight and mass. Females tend to be of a lower total size, weight, and body mass than men and therefore may tend to be more sensitive to a given T3 dosage.

The peak effective dose for most females should be in the range of approximately 50 – 75mcg per day, with 75mcg being at the uppermost high end.

Proper Administration and Timing of Cytomel (T3) Dosage

T3 exhibits a half-life of 2.5 days, and it is therefore completely unnecessary to split up T3 doses throughout the day, as ingestion of the complete daily Cytomel dosage in the morning is adequate. It is also not completely necessary to titrate (slowly ramp up) the Cytomel dosage upwards. Initially, for the very first use of T3 for an individual, it is recommended to do so in order to obtain a feel for the compound’s effects as well as to gauge the increasing body heat output, as well as any possible muscle loss.

Once an individual is aware of his or her full effective peak optimal dose, it is generally not necessary to slowly ramp up T3 doses, and that starting at the known optimal Cytomel dosage should present no issues.

By the same admission, it is unnecessary to slowly titrate T3 doses downwards at the conclusion of a T3 cycle. The common myth used to be that upon sudden cessation, the thyroid gland can become damaged permanently. This is, once again, simply not true due to the research referenced earlier. It is in fact the best course of action to immediately eliminate all T3 doses at the conclusion of use so as to allow the thyroid hormone to restore function as soon as possible. As long as exogenous thyroid hormones are being administered, the thyroid hormone cannot recover due to the negative feedback loop. This applies even when slowly ramping down Cytomel doses. It is therefore best to cease administration immediately so as to allow function to restore as soon as possible, just as with the use of anabolic steroids.
