New Year’s Eve Snacks & Finger Foods

Feed a party crowd with these New Year’s Eve snacks and finger foods. Make all of your snacking dreams come true with a ton of sweet and savory nibbles, many store bought, some super easy to make.

After talking with a neighbor about a dilemma she was having for NYE (her and her friends need some sort of dinner, but nobody wants to cook and their group is too big for a restaurant reservation), I figured I would put together a board of New Year’s Eve appetizers that eats more like a light dinner.

I know this board of New Year’s Eve finger food looks pretty epic, and it IS pretty epic. But really, this is one item I made, one thing I heated up in the oven, and 98% stuff I bought at the store.

Please don’t feel like you need ALL of the New Year’s Eve snacks I’ve listed here. This board is for a BIG crowd, but if your gathering is a little smaller, just cut it down to a few of your favorite things.

  • Cheese – like marinated mozzarella balls from the cheese counter at my store, and high-quality sliced sharp cheddar.
  • Nuts – cashews and pistachios are my favorite New Year’s Eve snacks.
  • Fruit – Offer whole clementines and berries, especially if there are kids around.
  • Honeycomb – goes great with cheese, and always seems very fitting for a special occasion. Honeycomb is also perfect on a breakfast charcuterie board the next morning.
  • Vegetable chips – so much fancier than potato chips for NYE appetizers, right?
  • Smoked salmon – I buy this from my local bagel shop and arrange the slices on a small, pretty plate. You could also assemble smoked salmon crostini for New Year’s Eve finger food if you wanted to.
  • Marinated olives + marinated mushrooms – from the olive bar at the store.
  • Assorted crackers – The more interesting, the better for New Year’s Eve appetizers! I brought crackers home from Germany last time I went and hand-carried them on the plane to avoid breakage, because I’m such a cracker fanatic!
  • Pomegranate seeds – for a pretty garnish to my New Year’s Eve food (I also love these to look “bloody” on a Halloween charcuterie board!)
  • Chocolate-covered pretzels – everybody loves these!
  • Mini cannoli – store bought, of course. Or go all out and make a cannoli dip board for dessert after filling up on savory New Year’s snacks.
  • Fun, festive cookies – from a local bakery.

10 Finger-Foods To Serve At Your New Years Eve Party

New Years’ Eve parties are always an absolute blast, but going through all the effort to plan them can often be quite frustrating – especially when you have loads of guests to entertain and feed. For big occasions like this, finger food is always the best bet. It’s simple, it’s easy and it’s a guaranteed crowd-pleaser, plus you won’t have to worry about whether or not your guests are enjoying the food you are providing for them, because what they choose to eat is totally up to them.

Here are 10 of our favorite finger foods that you should be serving during those festive celebrations:

10Baked Mozzarella Sticks

These baked mozzarella sticks are cheesy good! They’re super easy to make and will go down so well with all your friends and family. They’re gooey and stringy in the middle with a crispy exterior. All you’ll need is some mozzarella, flour, eggs, water, bread crumbs, butter, and seasoning. And then serve with your favorite dip or saucy topping. The perfect no-mess finger food to serve at your New Years’ Eve Party!

9Pizza Cups

For all those pizza lovers out there (which is most of us) you are going to become quite obsessed with these cute little mini pizza cups. It’s like a pizza in a bite. Cut your pizza dough into flat cubes and mold them into your muffin tray. Then add in all of your favorite toppings and pop in the oven to cook for 20 minutes. They’re super easy to make and are guaranteed to be a people pleaser.

8Bacon Stuffed Jalapeno Poppers

Bacon and jalapenos! Yes, please! You only need 3 ingredients to make this divine finger food – bacon, jalapenos, and cream cheese. They’re deliciously tasty, full of flavor, and super easy to make, eat and serve.

7Stuffed Mushrooms

There really isn’t any limit to playing with this recipe. You can add as many or as few toppings are you want and your guests are bound to love them. Stuffed mushrooms are absolutely delicious when topped with cheese or garlic, which is why these garlic parmesan mushrooms are our go-to pick for New Year.

6Buffet Meatballs

Party meatballs are a great quick snack to serve on any organized occasion. The meatballs can be flavored in four different ways so everyone has something that they will enjoy. You can choose from Marinara Meatballs, Barbeque meatballs, Swedish meatballs, or Teriyaki meatballs. Serve with a toothpick for easy handling and garnish with some parmesan or coriander.

5Charcuterie Board

What’s a food spread at a party without a charcuterie board. Just look at it! It looks so professional, so complicated, so delicious and yet it really is one of the easiest food platters to put together. Plus it’s super fun getting to play around with food. Grab some of your favorite cheeses, olives, assorted meats, biscuits, nuts, fruits, vegetables, and a bunch of delicious, flavorful sauces and display them all out on a large wooden board. It truly is the perfect finger food. Here’s a shopping list for everything you will need to make the ultimate charcuterie board.

4Barbeque Chicken Roll-Ups

Barbeque chicken but make it a roll-up. They’re so easy and they’re so yummy! You’re going to make a chicken mixture made out of BBQ sauce, shredded rotisserie chicken, shredded red onion, cheese, and parley. This mixture is then slathered onto a large rectangular piece of pizza dough, which is rolled up and then cut into slices. Bake for 15 minutes and you’ll have some delicious barbeque chicken roll-ups that all your guests are going to adore!

3Spinach And Feta Tartlets

Spinach and feta are one of the greatest culinary combinations the world has to offer and these spinach and feta tartlets are melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Plus it’s vegetarian so your veggie friends are going to be so impressed and thankful. It can also be served as an easy, impressive starter at any dinner party!

2Sushi Rice Bites

If you serve sushi at your New Years’ party, expect to make life-long friends, because it truly is one of the greatest food inventions ever created. Thank you, Japan! You can get your sushi-making skills on and go all out by creating some complicated snacks or just go for simple California rolls. It’s a finger food fancy enough to serve at weddings.

1Caprese Salad Bites

You always have to have some kind of salad on your finger-food menu because sometimes your guests can be fussy. These simple salad bites are made by just skewering your usual salad ingredients onto a skewer stick in kebab fashion but without the meat.
