If you don’t know how to make coleslaw from scratch, you’ll love how easy this cabbage slaw recipe is! It uses everyday produce and an easy coleslaw dressing with a mayo and yogurt base which, to some, makes it healthy coleslaw. It’s so flavorful, festive, and anything but boring! It’s great on its own, but even more scrumptious when piled on a Pulled Pork Sandwich or next to Baked Chicken Thighs or Grilled Salmon. So yummm!

WHAT IS COLESLAW MADE OF?

A traditional coleslaw recipe is usually a made with green and/or red cabbage and shredded carrots tossed in a creamy coleslaw dressing or vinaigrette. Cabbage slaw is completely customizable and you can add other veggies or get very creative with the dressing. This coleslaw recipe is made with simple, everyday ingredients.

WHAT’S IN CABBAGE COLESLAW

  • green and red cabbage – use coleslaw mix or slice your own
  • carrots – these add color, texture, and nutrients
  • green onions or fresh chives – not required but great for flavor and color

WHAT’S IN HEALTHY COLESLAW DRESSING?

  • mayonnaise – use your favorite mayo
  • plain Greek yogurt – use your preferred fat content
  • apple cider vinegar – I prefer Bragg
  • Dijon mustard – or preferred mustard
  • sugar – use just enough for balance, don’t overdo it
  • celery seed – if using celery salt, no need to add salt
  • salt
