🧾Ingredient Notes
Here is the pic of the ingredients to make this delicious, fresh strawberry juice. Sugar and water are not in the picture.
- Strawberries: I have used fresh ones. You can use frozen ones.
- Lemon juice: A slight tang from the lemon juice will perk up the flavor of the berries. Instead, you can use lime juice.
- Sugar: You can use your choice of sweetener.
- Water: A little amount of water is added to get the juice consistency.
👩🍳Step By Step Photo Instructions
- Wash the strawberries, remove the stems and roughly chop them. Add that into the blender along with lemon juice and sugar.
- Blend it until you get a smooth puree.
- Add chilled water and again blitz it to mix together.
- Pour into the serving glass or a pitcher.
💭Expert Tips
- Use chilled water or use a few ice cubes with room temperature water. If using ice cubes then reduce the water amount otherwise you’ll have diluted juice.
- If you prefer, you can add a pinch of salt. It brings out the strawberry flavor more. I do not add salt to control the salt intake.
- Adjust the amount of sugar depending on the sweetness of your strawberries.
- To strain or not? It depends. We do not mind having a few seeds in the sip here and there. So why waste time in doing one extra step of straining. If you prefer a super smooth strawberry juice then strain the juice using a muslin cloth over the strainer.
🥣 Storage
- As this is fresh fruit juice, it should be consumed fresh for the most nutritional benefits.
- However, you can keep it in the refrigerator, covered for up to 24 hours only. If so do stir before pouring into the serving glass.

HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY JUICE (WITH AND WITHOUT JUICER)
This strawberry juice recipe requires just ONE ingredient for a super fresh, fruity, and nutritious, pure strawberry juice. Best of all, strawberry juicing is super simple and can be done with a juicer or blender. Plus, I’ve included tons of potential add-ins and recipe variations for tons of ways to enjoy a strawberry drink!

Does it sound overdramatic for me to say that this strawberry juice is irresistible?! Having already shared several summery juice recipes this summer (like this pineapple orange juice, watermelon juice, kiwi juice, and orange carrot juice), this pure strawberry juice recipe is a new favorite of mine. It’s refreshing, sweet, flavorful, and so so simple to make!
In fact, all you need for strawberry juicing is just fresh strawberries and either a blender (or immersion blender) or a juicer. In just a few minutes, you’ll have a wonderful berry juice that you can enjoy as-is, pulpy, smooth, or combine with more ingredients for a delicious strawberry juice drink blend (like strawberry kiwi juice, strawberry limeade, or even cocktails!). You can even use the pureed strawberries to make delicious natural strawberry syrup!
During the summer months, you’ll rarely find my kitchen without strawberries, especially when I can get my hands on the super juicy, sweet strawberries from my local farmers’ market. Then they’ll quickly be transformed into strawberry sorbet, a fruity vinaigrette salad dressing, added to a summery strawberry kale salad, or made into a creamy two-layer strawberry tart. I definitely recommend saving some for this strawberry juice recipe, though. Not only does it taste delicious, but it’s also packed with health benefits.
And if you want more inspiration for fresh summery drinks, you might enjoy this refreshing cucumber lemonade, bloody Mary, pineapple lemonade, mango lassi, coconut vanilla Frappuccino, or even tropical guava smoothie!
THE STRAWBERRY JUICE INGREDIENTS
- Strawberries: use fresh, ripe strawberries in season for the sweetest, most flavorful strawberry juice. I recommend using organic strawberries when possible.
- Sweetener: (optional) if you’re making this juice off-season or just have a sweet tooth, you can add a little sweetener. I recommend using a liquid option like maple, agave, or honey.
OPTIONAL ADD-INS
- Lemon/Lime: a little tangy citrus juice really brightens up sweet strawberry juice.
- Salt: a small pinch of salt is often added to strawberry juice to enhance the berry flavor.
- To dilute the juice: if you prefer a subtler strawberry juice drink, you can dilute it. I recommend using coconut water for the best flavor. However, you could also use still or sparkling water.
- Celery/Cucumber: alternatively, instead of the above, you could add ingredients like celery or cucumber juice to add tons of freshness and water content.
- Apple: for extra natural sweetness, add 1-2 sweet apples to the juice.
- Herbs: this strawberry juice recipe pairs wonderfully with several fresh herbs, including mint, rosemary, basil, etc.
- Spice: you can also use various aromatic spices to add flavor (to taste), including vanilla, tarragon, cardamom, turmeric, ginger, cinnamon.
- Tomato: this might sound a little odd, but a little tomato juice helps to enhance the strawberry flavor. One small-ish tomato thrown into the recipe should be enough.
- Strawberry watermelon juice: for a truly refreshing summer strawberry juice drink, combine the berries with watermelon and serve in a keg (optionally with alcohol).
- Rosewater: just a little rosewater will make for a more aromatic juice that tastes delicious as is or with alcohol.
- Other fruits: tons of fruits pair well with strawberries – I’ll likely add more recipes in the future. For now, some of my favorite pairings would be mango, melon, pineapple, passion fruit, dragon fruit, other berries, apple, acai, orange, cranberry, etc.
- Creamy: without becoming a smoothie, you can adjust this into a creamy strawberry juice with the addition of a little condensed milk (or coconut condensed milk) or plain coconut milk.
- Alcohol: adjust this strawberry drink into a delicious cocktail with the addition of rum, tequila, gin, vodka, etc.
HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY JUICE
First, prepare the strawberries by washing them well. Some people prefer to remove the green stems. These are edible and contain extra nutrients, so I usually leave them on.
USING A BLENDER/IMMERSION BLENDER
Then transfer the strawberries to a high-speed blender or use an immersion blender in a large bowl of the strawberries. Blend until smooth.
You could then drink the strawberry juice as-is (pulpy), diluted slightly, or you can strain the mixture.
To strain the juice, pour it through a nut milk bag or through layers on cheesecloth in a sieve. If using a nut milk bag, squeeze well to remove as much juice as possible.
USING A JUICER
Simply feed the strawberries into your juicer chute – no need to strain!
Save any leftover pulp too. You can dry it out and plant the seeds (if they’re not too broken up), make fruit leather, add it to other smoothies and juices, etc. If you don’t want to use it immediately, I recommend freezing the strawberry pulp into an ice cube tray to use later.
HOW TO STORE
Store: fresh fruit juice is always best immediately for the most nutritional benefits. However, you can enjoy this fresh strawberry juice for 2-3 days when stored, covered in the refrigerator.
Freeze: you can also freeze some of the juice to use as ice-cubes, turn into slushies, or simply defrost later and enjoy. I recommend freezing it for up to 2 months for the best flavor.

There’s nothing like a glass of cold strawberry juice on a hot day. In this blog post, I’m going to show you how to make your own strawberry juice at home. It’s really easy – all you need is a blender and strawberries. So let’s get started!
We love making our own fresh juices, not only juice delicious combinations juicing those fruits that juicing is not as easy as making orange juice… like this one or pomegranate juice.
ingredients
- Ripe strawberries
- Lemon juice
- Cold water

prepare your ingredients
Wash and optionally trim off the crown and strawberry leaves with the tip of a knife. This is not necessary as the leaves are edible, but they can add a slightly bitter taste. We always leave them as they are very nutritious.
Note: we always go for organic strawberries when making homemade juice because strawberries are among the fruits that are most commonly flooded with pesticides.
Cut a lime or lemon and measure the water. If you want to make chilled juice, you can either replace one cup of water with a few ice cubes or use frozen strawberries.
Depending on how thin you want your juice, add a minimum of one cup of water. We like a 1:2 ratio (1 point strawberries = 2 cups water).
juice strawberries
If using frozen produce, let them thaw in a jar immersed in water for a minute, or add chopped strawberries to facilitate the blenders’ job.
Add strawberries to a high-speed blender, and add water and lemon juice.

Blend all the ingredients until smooth for 35 seconds approximately.

Optionally strain the juice with a fine-mesh strainer. I don’t find this necessary at all as there is very little pulp left, but some people like their juice perfectly thinned.
If you want to make fruit leather you may want to keep strawberry pulp using a cheesecloth and a large bowl, then use the smooth puree in a fruit leather recipe. Pulp seeds can also be planted!
We recommend you try it and this point and see if you like the consistency.
Pour in serving glasses optionally add ice cubes.
If your strawberries are not very sweet, you might want to add a tablespoon of agave syrup or any natural sweetener. I find agave syrup to be the most neutral sweetener when I don’t want to affect the flavor of the juice.
I am not a fan of added sugar to our juices but you could also use brown sugar or coconut sugar. Be aware that this will raise the nutrition calories.
If you are trying to reduce your sugar intake, skip all sweeteners.

Have fun this National Drinking Straw Day (January 3rd) with our homemade strawberry juice recipe completed with your favorite straw! We’ll reveal the secrets to making a refreshing fruit drink you can enjoy every single day!
Before we begin, let’s discuss strawberries, their juice extract, and the potential benefits they bring.
Benefits of Strawberry Juice
Strawberry juice is much like its fruit in that it also provides nutrition. The major difference is the juice is void of any fiber.
However, you still retain enough nutrients to make juicing worth the effort.
1. For Health
For one, pure strawberry juice comes with no additives or preservatives. Research shows that certain additives may affect thyroid growth and function, particularly in children.
Given these findings, it’s a good rule of thumb to live by “the fresher, the better.” Go for fresh fruit and veggies whenever possible to maintain your and your children’s health.
This strawberry juice also contains just three teaspoons of added sugar per serving. To put that into perspective, that’s 33% for men and 50% for women of the recommended sugar intake on a 2,000-calorie diet — a pretty great bargain on your sugar budget!
2. For Skin
A significant advantage of this drink is its potential skin-related benefits derived from Vitamin C. Vitamin C is an antioxidant involved in many functions that keep our bodies healthy, including protecting the skin.
With over 50% of the vitamin C recommended daily intake per serving in this drink, you can soon drink your way to healthier skin.
3. For Weight Loss
Try as we may, we can’t lose weight by simply incorporating fruit or vegetable juices into our diets. Unfortunately, that’s not how weight loss works.
But given that strawberry juice can cure a sweet tooth, you can enjoy it when those cravings creep up and avoid dipping your hand in a can of sugar-laden snacks.
This helps to limit your sugar intake and, as a result, your total caloric intake. Coupled with a healthy eating regimen directed towards weight loss, you may start to see those pounds shedding quicker than you think.
Is This Strawberry Juice OK to Drink Every Day?
Yes, it is absolutely safe to drink this strawberry juice daily. That said, this beverage does contain sugar, so we recommend limiting its consumption to once a day to avoid overconsuming sugar.
The key is to remember that the ball is in your court when it comes to making juice at home. You could leave the sugar out to make a healthier, lower-calorie beverage — or omit the sugar altogether.
Main Ingredients
Let’s take a quick look at the ingredient list:
- Strawberries: It’s best to use fresh instead of frozen ones for today’s recipe.
- Lemon juice: Adds a touch of freshness to brighten up this drink.
- Sugar: In limited quantities only. Feel free to cut back further on the sugar.
- Mint: We used spearmint, but any available mint in your local supermarket will do.
- Water: A bit of water makes the juice less concentrated, less viscous, and lighter on the palate.
We did use ice in this recipe, but note that it dilutes the juice once it melts, and not everyone may enjoy the drink afterward.

Can You Put Strawberries in a Juicer?
Yes! You can, but this comes with its drawbacks.
Strawberries are lacking in fiber and their texture is relatively soft. Thus they won’t produce much liquid and will be squashed to a purée when you push them through a juicer.
Another problem is strawberries getting stuck in the juicer’s feed chute. If this happens, add water or fibrous fruit into the tube to help push out the strawberry purée.
What Other Fruit Goes Well With Strawberry Juice?
Add your personal touch to this strawberry juice recipe with some extra fruit in the mix. Here are a few suggestions:

1. Kiwi
Kiwi and strawberry make a great combination. Although kiwi is a bit tarter, it balances the sweetness of strawberry to create a harmony of flavors.
Similar to strawberries, kiwi is also soft in texture. It’s best to put it in the blender along with your strawberries to add body to the texture.
2. Apple
If you’re pairing apples with strawberries, we recommend trying the Granny Smith variety. Its tart yet mild fruity aroma complements berries better than sweeter apple varieties.
3. Orange
Citrus fruits are versatile and effortlessly add vibrance to any food or drink.
Create another summery fruit beverage by juicing one orange and adding the juice to this strawberry mix. Or stick to just lemon juice, like we did with this tasty strawberry lemonade.
4. Watermelon
A while ago, we tested our first strawberry watermelon recipe, where we simply ran the two fruits through the juicer.
This little experiment turned out remarkable. It produced a refreshing, sweet drink with a deep red color that is appealing and absolutely worth a try.
