Ingredients for Iced Strawberry Green Tea Lemonade

Yogi tea Pure Green Tea Bags: this is my all time favorite tea by Yogi. It’s light and refreshing, and allows for more flavors to be added whenever and however you please! For this tea, we’ll be using 8 tea bags, as iced tea gets watered down very easily from the ice. We need the flavor to hold up! But don’t worry, your iced strawberry green tea lemonade won’t be overly powerful, and I’ll teach you a tip for getting it just right!

Lemon: for this recipe, we’ll only need 1 lemon! This ensures that the green tea lemonade isn’t overpowered by the lemon- you’ll still be able to taste both the flavors of the strawberry puree and the green tea (which won’t be filled with tannins!).

Strawberries: ’tis the season! What I love most about this ice green tea recipe is that it’s only sweetened with fresh strawberries! Since this is a summer time iced green tea recipe, fresh strawberries are key, as they’re perfectly in season and sweet! That’s what makes this fun version of a strawberry lemonade recipe refined sugar free. The only sugar comes from naturally from fruit!

Filtered Water: for this iced strawberry green tea, we’ll need about 8 cups of water. Of course, you can scale it down or up depending on how many people you are serving, but I found that 8 cups is a good baseline.

Now that we’ve gone over the (easy and simple) ingredients for making a iced strawberry green tea lemonade, let’s go over how it all comes together!

How to make strawberry puree

Like I said earlier, what I love most about this green tea lemonade recipe is how sweet it is, yet that it’s only sweetened with fresh fruit.

I’m serious, you don’t even need to cook the strawberries! All you’ll need for making the strawberry puree that goes into the green tea lemonade are strawberries and a small food processor or blender.

Slice your strawberries in half, enough to fill 11/2 cups. Place the strawberries in the food processor and just blend until it’s completely smooth.

  • whole strawberries in a food processor
  • pureed strawberries in a food processor

Now, some people might want the seeds, and others might not. Personally, I don’t mind a few seeds, so I don’t strain the strawberry puree, but if you’d like to, simple pour the strawberry puree over a sieve and into a glass jar or bowl. Squeeze out the puree and then discard the seeds!

See? Really easy! Now that we have our strawberry puree, let’s move onto how to make iced tea, which is just as simple 🙂

How to make iced tea

So you might be wondering how to make iced tea (maybe you’re used to purchasing it instead of actually making it…don’t worry, I’ve been there! Though once you try this iced green tea recipe, you won’t ever need to purchase an iced tea again 😉 ).

And in fact, it’s just as easy as making strawberry puree! Or even regular tea…only scaled up to serve more people!

So, to make iced strawberry green tea lemonade, first start by heating up the water in a large enough pot to hold 8 cups. Bring the water to a boil, and then remove the pot from the heat.

Place your Yogi tea Green Tea bags into the boiling water and let the tea steep for 10-15 minutes. Don’t worry, this won’t make the tea taste too bitter!

Next, pour the steeped tea into a large pitcher and add about 1 cup of ice. Don’t put the tea into the fridge just yet, as your glass will be too hot and this could result in shattered glass and all of your iced strawberry green tea gone!

Let the pitcher sit out on the counter for about 30 minutes, and then place the pitcher into the fridge for an hour.

When you’re ready to serve this spin off of a strawberry lemonade recipe, add in another cup or two of ice cubes and the strawberry puree! Stir the iced tea so that the strawberry puree is well mixed and serve to your guests or enjoy whenever you need a nice cold drink!

How easy was making that iced green tea recipe? You’re new favorite, right? Thought so 😉

It’s the perfect summertime refreshment, and a great nonalcoholic option for kids and adults alike, much like my virgin strawberry lime margaritas 🙂 Bring this to a party and you’ll have people lining up to ask you how to make this iced strawberry green tea lemonade!

Strawberry Green Tea Recipe

After having a baby last month things have been a whirlwind around here. We’ve had company galore, all gathering to meet our new arrival, laundry, sleepless nights, 3 other kiddos to take care of and the to do list never ends! My little guy, Brady, is such a blessing and a welcomed new addition to the family. I’m getting used to a new routine and starting to figure out how to juggle it all. While I was recovering from my c-section there were a few things that people brought me that were so helpful as well as a few things that I wish I had during my recovery. How do you spoil a new mom? That’s what this post is all about! Plus I’m giving you my favorite Iced Strawberry Green Tea recipe that every new mom deserves to enjoy.

When visiting a new mom and meeting that precious little baby what should you bring to spoil the new mom? It can be a tough question, but having just gone through it I can tell you exactly what I wanted.

  • After having a c-section I wasn’t able to get into jeans because they would rub on my incision so yoga pants paired with comfy tops were a must. Every new mom can benefit from a fresh, new set of comfy clothes that she can wear and feel great even if she didn’t get a shower that day. The baby always gets new clothes, don’t forget mama!
  • Chocolate! It’s an instant mood booster and after all the hard work of delivering that baby every new mom deserves some chocolate! Put it in cute little jars and adorn it with a ribbon for a special touch. (*secret tip* you can buy my personal favorite cadbury eggs year round on Amazon!)
  • Foot cream is the perfect way to spoil every new mom with an at home pedicure. Soak those tired feet in a wash basin with some epsom salts and follow it up with a nice foot massage using the foot creme. An at home spa treatment is just what the doctor ordered!
  • You’ll need some Bigelow Green Tea with lemon for relaxing at night with a hot cup of tea and you’ll also need it for my divine Strawberry Green Tea recipe that is perfect for sipping throughout the day.
Bigelow Green Tea at Target #Shop

I found my Bigelow Green Tea with Lemon at Target in the tea aisle. It’s with a myriad of other teas and flavors but it’s the best for this recipe! Why should new mamas take advantage of sipping green tea? There are actually many health benefits to drinking green tea:

  1. It is loaded with antioxidants and nutrients that have powerful effects on the body. This includes improved brain function, fat loss, a lower risk of cancer and many other incredible benefits.
  2. Green Tea Can Kill Bacteria, Which Improves Dental Health and Lowers Your Risk of Infection.
  3. Some studies show that green tea leads to increased weight loss. It is particularly effective at reducing the dangerous abdominal fat.
  4. Green tea was used in traditional Chinese and Indian medicine to control bleeding and heal wounds, aid digestion, improve heart and mental health and regulate body temperature.4 Recent studies have shown green tea can potentially have positive effects on everything from weight loss to liver disorders to type 2 diabetes.
  5. Green tea is considered one of the world’s healthiest drinks.

Before going to visit a new mom, brew up some green tea and make her some Strawberry Green Tea! First you need to boil 5 cups of water and pour it over 5 Bigelow Green Tea with Lemon tea bags and let it brew for 5 minutes.

Mix it with your strawberry syrup (see recipe below) and chill. Serve chilled over ice. It’s sooooo good!

Since new moms are always on the go, taking care of baby’s every need, pick up a covered, insulated straw cup that she can enjoy her strawberry green tea in. I LOVE my insulated straw cup because I can carry it with me through the house and on the go and always stay hydrated which is particularly important for breastfeeding moms.
