Strawberry Kiwi Juice Recipe

I absolutely adore this fruit juice with strawberries and kiwis in the morning.

Not just because the juice tastes great but because kiwi and strawberries pack a lot of health-benefiting antioxidants.

Sometimes I even make some extra to enjoy after work out in the evening.

Besides, it’s so easy to prepare this juice from scratch because strawberries and kiwis are hassle-free.

Sauteed Chanterelle Mushrooms

I initially came upon this juice in the Paris Aeroville shopping mall (while admiring the fossil bag line) and totally fell in love with the combination of strawberries and kiwis.

How to make it?

To prepare this kiwi strawberry juice recipe you can use your vitamix blender.

This juice doesn’t require a juicer (yay!).

Use fresh quality fruits for the best and most flavorful homemade strawberry juice with kiwi.

Step 1

Wash your fruits. Cut off the strawberry stem and peel the kiwi.

Step 2

Place the fruits into the blender jar with the desired amount of cold water.

The more water you add the more liquid your juice will turn out.

Blend smooth.

Step 3

Pour the juice into a glass with ice cubes.

I don’t strain the juice with a fine sieve because I don’t think it’s necessary.

The little kiwi and strawberry seeds actually add a lovely texture to your strawberry kiwi juice recipe.

Storing

You can prepare this mixed fruit juice with strawberries and kiwis in advance and store the juice in the fridge.

Keep in mind that the fruit pulp will separate from the added water if not consumed instantly.

In that case, just mix it all up again with a spoon.

Or don’t add water and store the blended fruit pulp in the fridge or freezer for over a longer period of time.

That way you just need to take it out and mix it with some water to thin it out if you like.

Dear Reader, how often do you prepare fresh fruit juices at home?

Make this when you want a large dose of vitamin C: Kiwifruit contain more of the antioxidant than oranges, and strawberries are a good source of C, too. Kiwifruit has also been shown to support eye health.

FRESH STRAWBERRY KIWI JUICE (BLENDER OR JUICER)

This strawberry kiwi juice is slightly sweet, sour, and super refreshing – making for a perfect healthy summer drink! All you need is two ingredients and a few minutes to prepare this strawberry and kiwi juice – plus a blender or a juicer!

A glass with strawberry kiwi juice

Having just shared my favorite methods for juicing kiwi and strawberries (with and without a juicer), I knew I had to share my current favorite way of enjoying those juices – combined in this deliciously fresh, sweet, and tart strawberry kiwi juice!

This summer, I’ve fully embraced fresh juices as a great way to stay hydrated while nourishing my body (alongside big jugs of infused water). I’ve already shared recipes for pineapple orange and pineapple ginger juice, watermelon juice, and even cucumber juice very recently. Which I then used to whip up giant jugs of cucumber lemonade and pineapple lemonade (delicious, nutritious, AND child-friendly – it’s a win-win!).

While kiwi juice is naturally quite tart, ripe strawberries are wonderfully sweet, making the two a great pairing. Not to mention that the combination of produce “colors” helps to pack in even more vitamins and nutrients.

KIWI AND STRAWBERRY JUICE BENEFITS

I’ve already talked about the benefits of kiwi juice, so let’s now take a moment to appreciate strawberry juice.

  • Strawberries are an excellent source of several vitamins and minerals, including vitamin C, vitamin K, manganese, folate, and potassium.
  • Strawberries are relatively low GI, meaning they shouldn’t cause large blood sugar spikes.
  • They’re packed with antioxidants and healthful plant compounds, including anthocyanins, which pack in heart-boosting benefits.
  • The antioxidants in strawberries also help to work towards cancer prevention by preventing oxidative stress in the body.
  • Strawberries can help to regulate blood sugars, slowing down glucose digestion.

The combination of kiwi and strawberry also yields a juice that packs in eye-health benefits and more vitamin C than orange juice!

You don’t even need a juicer for this recipe! A blender/immersion blender will work perfectly, too. It’s ready in just minutes, too. Once prepared, enjoy the strawberry and kiwi juice as-is, top up with other liquids, pour into popsicle molds, or turn into popsicles – the options are endless!

THE INGREDIENTS

  • Kiwis: for the simple kiwi juice recipe, all you need are some fresh, ripe kiwifruit.
  • Strawberries: use fresh ripe strawberries for the best results.
  • To dilute the juice: you can dilute the strawberry kiwi juice if you prefer a subtler flavor (and less sugar). I recommend using coconut water, still or sparkling water, or even tonic water.

OPTIONAL ADD-INS AND RECIPE VARIATIONS

  • Sweetener: I usually find that the strawberry kiwi juice is sweet enough on its own – though if you find it a little tangy, then add a little natural sweetener like maple, agave, or honey (or vegan dandelion honey).
  • Strawberry kiwi lemonade/limeade: follow this strawberry limeade recipe, swapping the strawberries for the strawberry kiwi combination.
  • Lemon/Lime: the added freshness for a squirt (or more) of lemon/lime juice is delicious with this strawberry kiwi juice combination.
  • Celery/Cucumber/Apple: al three options work well to dilute the strawberry and kiwi juice while adding extra nutrients.
  • Melon: watermelon, cantaloupe, and other sweet melons pair perfectly with this strawberry kiwi juice.
  • Herbs: serve the fresh strawberry kiwi juice with herbs like mint or basil. Even a little thyme or basil would work.
  • Alcohol: you can adjust this kiwi strawberry juice into a super refreshing cocktail with the addition of rum, gin, or vodka.
  • Strawberry kiwi slushie: you can combine the fresh fruit with ice cubes or use frozen fruits to blend. Optionally add a natural sweetener or a little simple syrup, too.
  • Strawberry kiwi smoothie: it’s easy to adjust this recipe to a smoothie. Combine both ingredients with a frozen banana and/or some of your favorite yogurt (dairy or dairy-free), then blend and enjoy! Optionally add a little orange juice and/or vanilla for extra flavor.

HOW TO MAKE STRAWBERRY KIWI JUICE

First, prepare the fruits. To do so, clean and chop the fruits. I used the rough side of a clean, damp sponge to remove lots of the kiwi skin “hair” (alternatively, you can peel the kiwis). And slice away the stems of the kiwi.

You can also, optionally, slice the stems from the strawberries, though they’re edible – so I leave them.

USING A BLENDER/IMMERSION BLENDER

I like to blend the fruits separately and then combine them. To do so, add the strawberries and kiwis to separate bowls (if using an immersion blender) and use an immersion blender or simply blend one fruit at a time in your blender. Blend until smooth.

If you like the juice pulpy, you can easily combine both juices and optionally top up with a bit of water, sparkling water, or coconut water. Alternatively, use a fine-mesh sieve with a cheesecloth or a nut milk bag to drain the juice.

USING A JUICER

Slice the kiwis and strawberries into pieces large enough to fit your juicer chute. I leave the kiwi skin and strawberry stems on. Then just juice the fruit.

HOW TO STORE

Store: drink the strawberry kiwi juice within a few hours for optimal nutrients and freshness. However, you can store any leftovers in the fridge for 2-3 days, covered.

Note that if you keep the juice pulpy, the pulp will separate from the juice as it sits. So give it a shake before enjoying each time.

Freeze: freeze any leftover strawberry kiwi juice soon after juicing for optimal nutrient retention. I recommend doing so in ice-cube trays for “portioned” amounts of juice. Freeze for up to 2 months. Then add the ice cubes directly to juices, smoothies, and slushies – or allow them to thaw in the fridge before enjoying as a juice.

RECIPE TIPS AND NOTES

  • Enjoy pulpy or smooth: the pulp adds extra fiber and nutrients. However, I know some people don’t like the additional texture. When blending, it’s as simple as straining the kiwi strawberry juices for smooth results.
  • Make popsicles: there are several ways you can use this recipe to create strawberry kiwi popsicles. Either layer the juices separately or combine them. Optionally add a little sweetener and a slice of fresh fruit to the popsicles, freeze, and enjoy.
  • Can I use frozen fruit? Feel free to use frozen fruit with a little water to create a quick kiwi strawberry slushy. Alternatively, allow the fruit to thaw and blend as written above. I haven’t tried this, but it should work, especially when strawberries and kiwi are out of season.
  • Adjust the sweetness: I like to avoid adding extra sugars when possible. However, if needed, add the liquid sweetener of your choice (or a sweeter fruit juice).
  • Don’t waste the juice pulp: if you like smooth juice, there’s no need to discard the remaining pulp. Instead, save this to add to smoothies, in baked recipes like bread and muffins, or even compost it. If you have a lot, you can freeze it in ice cube trays to use later.
