If you guessed “this protein shake” well then you get a gold star because you are RIGHT.

This protein shake tastes like a milkshake form of my favorite strawberry protein mug cake and your taste buds will NOT believe it’s healthy.

I mean, waking up a bowl of protein oats is good and all but WHAT IF you could start the day with something that tasted like a milkshake instead?

I know, you’re all ears now.

Why You Will LOVE This Recipe

I LOVE a good shake or smoothie. I mean, who could possibly say no to a fruity, creamy dreamy banana cashew flax seed smoothie or a chocolate protein shake? NOT ME! Today’s strawberries and cream protein shake is going to level up your smoothie game for so many reasons. First off, it’s made with healthy ingredients that you’ll feel good about fueling your body with. It’s also packed with protein which means it will taste great AND keep you full and energized until your next snack or meal. Last, but certainly not least, this smoothie is super easy to throw together, and everyone in your crew is going to love it- even the picky eater in your household. Ingredients Needed

When looking for a smoothie or shake recipe, I tend to lean towards choosing the ones with the most flavor and the best health benefits! Who knew that such a healthy and tasty smoothie only requires a few, simply ingredients to whip up? Well now you know! Here are the ingredients you will need to blend up a cool and creamy strawberry protein shake (you could even add in a banana for extra sweetness and creamy goodness to make a strawberry banana protein shake):

  • Halved Frozen Strawberries
  • Vanilla Protein Powder of choice
  • Unsweetened Almond Milk
  • Sweetener (optional)

What Protein Powder To Use

Like many strawberry protein shake recipes, this one calls for vanilla protein powder and the choice of which one is totally up to you! I recommend using your go-to protein powder that is tried and true and that you know you will love. Any vanilla whey protein powder is usually a safe bet and will taste GREAT when blended up with the other ingredients in this shake recipe!

How To Make A Healthy Strawberry Protein Shake

Blending up a creamy dreamy shake could not be easier! Once you have rounded up the ingredients you will need, it’s time to whip out that blender and get going on your strawberry shake! Here’s how:

Blend

Add all the ingredients to a high powered blender. Turn it on and blend at high speed until the shake is smooth.

Serve

Pour the finished shake into a glass and add a straw if you want! Serve it up and enjoy!

How Much Protein Does This Shake Have?

A smoothie with added protein is the PERFECT smoothie to keep you full on those busy mornings instead of leaving you with a rumbling stomach hours before lunch! Protein works wonders because it provides our bodies with energy to tackle whatever is in front of us while ALSO keeping us full so that we don’t need a million snacks on hand to make it until lunch or dinner! This protein shake has over 25g of protein, which will vary slightly depending on the type of protein powder you use to make it.

Strawberry Banana Protein Shake

1 Shake 343 cals

Refresh your cravings this week with a healthy Strawberry Banana Protein Shake! This high protein smoothie is made with simple ingredients, filling, and guaranteed to satisfy even the biggest sweet tooth.

To get your shake smooth you’re going to need a blender to make this one. If you don’t have a blender, here’s a link to the one we’ve been using for years and recommend.

Add right into your blender 1 cup of strawberries, 1 cup of unsweetened vanilla milk substitute, 1 medium banana, 1 1/2 scoops of your choice flavor protein powder (vanilla, banana, or strawberry work great!), and 1 cup of ice.

You could also use a natural flavored protein powder but you may want to add in a little sweetener, honey, or vanilla extract with it!

Pro tip? Use frozen fruit and less or no ice at all for even more flavor!

Blend everything together until you have your strawberry banana protein shake.

Pour your shake into your favorite glass and optionally top it. Some of my favorite things to top this with? Fat free whipped cream and fresh sliced fruit! Let us know what you top yours with in the comments below.

If you’d like your shake to be even thicker you can add in either some Greek yogurt or cottage cheese (adds more protein to the recipe) or 1/4 teaspoon of some xanthan gum.

Heathy? and Cheesecake?

Easy Ground Beef Enchiladas Recipe

I promise, this one is going to surprise you and you’ll want to jump to recipe on this protein shake!

I have been drinking a lot of protein shakes lately and quite frankly they get boring. Vanilla… chocolate… same thing every other day.

So I scoured the internet trying to find some recipes, but most of them were filled with unhealthy ingredients. I mean… if I’m going to throw in unhealthy stuff, I might as well just eat some ice cream instead. So I came up with this super easy, super delicious, and actually healthy protein shake recipe.

I love it and I think you will too.

You will need a good blender to make this Strawberry Protein Shake Recipe:

After this recipe, you will be OBSESSED with making your own protein shakes like me.  I recommend that you invest in a good blender.

Currently, I use a Vitamix and I love it. It is old (like over 20 years old!) and is still going on strong.

This blender is an investment as it’s not the cheapest, but it is one investment that does not disappoint.  It will probably be the last blender you ever own.

If a Vitamix isn’t in your budget currently, then I recommend a Waring professional blender. This blender works well too.  It doesn’t work quite as well as the Vitamix, but they are the next best thing for a much more reasonable cost.  Amazon has several Waring blenders on sale right now.

Whatever blender that you decide on, either will work great to make the best strawberry protein shake.

Ingredients you need for strawberry protein shake:

You only need 5 ingredients for this healthy, delicious and easy proteins shake recipe.  Here is what you’ll need to make this today.

  • 1 cup of light almond milk (I like Hiland or Silk Milk)
  • 1 serving of Vanilla Protein Powder (I prefer a plant based option but you can definitely use your favorite protein powder.)
  • 1 cup of strawberries (I like to use frozen strawberries, but fresh works great too.)
  • 1 tablespoon of sugar free jell-o cheesecake mix (the powder)
  • 1 cup of ice (may only need  a half cup of ice if your strawberries are frozen)

By the way, did you know that you can actually freeze your fresh fruit to save money? It is super easy!  Learn how to freeze fruit.

How to make strawberry cheesecake protein shake:

This protein shake is not difficult to make at all.

Combine all the ingredients into a blender and blend on high until smooth. It may take two tries to get it perfectly smooth, but this is delicious and a nice change to a regular protein shake.

That’s it!  See…I promised that it wasn’t hard.  I usually eat it right away while it’s still cold but they usually don’t last long because it’s packed with flavor.

One of my favorite healthy protein smoothie recipes!

This strawberry cheesecake protein shake recipe is by far one of my favorite healthy protein shake recipes because it literally tastes like strawberry cheesecake but without all the calories.

It is sweet but packed with protein and healthy strawberries. It is the perfect meal for when you are in a hurry – I personally love this in the mornings.

I have even made it and then stuck it in the freezer for a few minutes to make it extra thick and extra cold where I can almost eat it with a spoon.

Is a protein shake a good breakfast?

I try to eat a high protein breakfast in the morning so that I stay full until lunch time.  Sometimes it’s hard to make a big breakfast in the morning as it’s pretty chaotic to get everyone out the door in time for school and work.

However, I have been enjoying a protein shake in the morning instead and find that it doesn’t take long to throw everything in the blender to have breakfast ready in minutes.

Also, sometimes, I prepackage the ingredients for a week worth of protein shakes in my refrigerator so I just have to throw the bag of ingredients into the blender.  Even I can find time for this!

With this delicious recipe, it’s like having cheesecake for breakfast.  Who wouldn’t love that in the morning?

What are good variations to this Cheesecake Protein Shake Recipe:

This recipe is delicious and easy.  Also, it’s easy to switch items out to make it work with whatever ingredients you have on hand.

Usually I make this protein shake with strawberries; however, any berries would be delicious in this recipe.  I have tried blueberries and raspberries before and both worked out great.

Generally, I buy the frozen variety so that I can keep them in my freezer and this way I don’t have to worry about fresh fruit going bad before enjoying it.

Also, I have used greek yogurt in place of the almond milk in this recipe.  This substitution adds even more protein to this recipe so this is a great option if you are trying to work more protein into your diet.

These are just a few substitutions that I have tried.  If you make any variations that you love, I would love to hear it in the comments below!

Chocolate Covered Strawberry Protein Shake

How many chocolate covered strawberries do you think you could eat? 2? 10? 50? We could definitely eat a lot. Of course, devouring chocolate covered strawberries may not be the healthiest idea. So, in order to curb our need for chocolate covered strawberries, we decided to create a healthy way to enjoy that great taste. This chocolate covered strawberry protein shake is it!

The strawberry flavor for the shake comes right from real strawberries. We like to use frozen strawberries and banana in this recipe to make the shake nice and thick. It also helps keep it cool which is needed if you are having this drink after a hard workout or on a hot day.

To get the rich, chocolate flavor for the protein shake, we use both chocolate protein powder and also unsweetened cocoa powder. Chocolate protein powder usually tastes pretty darn good but a little extra chocolate never hurts!

Speaking of extras, we also add some ground flaxseeds to give the smoothie a little extra protein. Between the protein powder, the flaxseeds, the milk and the yogurt, this shake is sure loaded with healthy protein. So drink up! Enjoy the chocolate strawberry taste in a healthy, nutritious way.
