This salad takes very few ingredients, but don’t forget you can add or remove a couple of these to make it your own.

  • Orange Jell-O

  • Mini Marshmallows
  • Coconut for that added flavor (save some to use as garnish)

CAN I USE INSTANT PUDDING IN FLUFF SALAD?

If you like the way the consistency is with pudding opt for low fat and zero sugar pudding so you will still have a healthier great tasting dessert.

IS ORANGE FLUFF A DESSERT OR SALAD?

There is a bit of fun controversy around this question. Orange fluff has “salad” added in the name most of the time. However, it’s also considered a dessert.

The way to determine whether a recipe is actually called “fluff salad” or not has been debating chefs and dietitians for years, but there doesn’t seem be any agreed-upon standard. We’ll leave that up in the air with our answer.
The closest thing we can come up with as an alternative would simply define it by its ingredients: All sweet desserts typically consist mainly of sugar; delights often include things such lemon juice (or other citrus fruit), vanilla flavor extract) plus whipped cream if desired

So we will call it a delight because it is delightful to our tastebuds.

  • Jell-o fluff can be stored in the fridge for up to a week. You’ll want to cover it with plastic wrap when storing it or it will dry out. Do not freeze.
  • If you store it in the fridge for at least a day, the flavor has a chance to really soak in and it’s truly the best.
  • You’ll want to stir it well after storing it as some of the liquid will migrate to the top. Stir well before serving.
  • The marshmallows will get much gooier when refrigerated. Don’t be alarmed, this is ok and, in my opinion, makes a better consistency.
  • Swap out various jell-o flavors to change up the entire flavor of the salad. Go nuts 🙂
  • Other popular add-ins are sour cream, yogurt, fruit cocktail, chopped pecans etc.
