HOW DO I MAKE A DUMP CAKE?

First, melt a stick of butter and add it to a bowl containing a box of cake mix (yellow or vanilla). Crumble these two ingredients after mixing them together.

Next, put frozen strawberries in a baking tray. Add the crumble of cake mix on top of the berries. Bake till golden brown at 350 degrees.

No, not always. If you do this, some of your dessert will be powdered and not blended with the fruit or butter. Your dump cake will have a really unpleasant texture as a result.

For this strawberry dump cake, a yellow or vanilla cake mix can be used. You can use regular or sugar-free boxed cake mixes.

CAN I ADD FROZEN FRUIT TO A CAKE MIX?

Yes! Using frozen fruit is a great way to make a strawberry cobbler with cake mix. Using frozen berries is a great and economical way to enjoy this dessert with berries are out of season.

WHY IS IT CALLED DUMP CAKE?

Because the ingredients are physically “dumped” into the baking dish, the cake is known as dump cake. The baking dish is filled with the cake mix, butter, and frozen berries, and then it is baked. There is no need for additional preparation.
