Weight Watchers Gluten Free Apple Crumble

An excellent fall dessert is apple crumble. But those who are gluten-free and following the Weight Watchers program shouldn’t consume classic apple crumble. Fortunately, there are a few easy methods to transform it into a delectable dessert that is gluten free and a terrific sweet treat on Weight Watchers. An excellent guilt-free fall treat is this simple Weight Watchers gluten-free apple crumble. It’s low in Weight Watchers points and simple to cook!

One of my favorite seasons is fall. I adore pretty much everything about it, especially the flavors of autumn. A couple of my favorite autumnal flavors are apple and pumpkin. I therefore enjoy every form of apple treat!

However, it can be challenging to find delectable sweets if you’re on Weight Watchers. However, the crust of this delicious gluten-free apple crumble is made of oats, making it ideal for the Weight Watchers purple plan.

Is There a Gluten Free Program at Weight Watchers?

Although there isn’t a Weight Watchers program especially created for a gluten-free diet, one of the three available diet plans is ideal for anyone who is gluten-free! Green, Blue, and Purple are the three distinct program colors used to identify them in the program. Each offers a unique selection of dishes with no points. While a gluten-free diet can be accommodated by all of the programs, those who follow this diet will particularly benefit from the purple plan.

You can indulge in a range of gluten-free items on the purple plan for no points, including:

  • All fruits and vegetables
  • Brown rice and brown rice pasta
  • Oats
  • Popcorn
  • Lean protein

Gluten Free Apple Crumble Recipe

Making this gluten-free apple crumble only costs three points per serving because oats are a zero point food on the purple diet!

These simple Weight Watchers apple crumble require the following ingredients:

  • Gluten free oats
  • Cinnamon
  • Brown sugar
  • Baking powder
  • Light vegetable oil spread
  • Apples
  • Cornstarch
  • Lemon juice

Weight Watchers members can enjoy this delectable dessert made from those basic ingredients!

You must begin with your apples if you want to create your own gluten-free apple crumble. Apples should be peeled and cut into bite-sized pieces before being combined with cinnamon, brown sugar, cornstarch, and lemon juice. The apples should be coated, then poured into a baking dish that has been prepared.

Place the apples in your baking dish in an equal layer. The wonderful thing about this Weight Watchers apple crumble is that you may eat more apples without increasing the number of points! Simply add more apples to the bowl before mixing if you want to make this dessert larger.

Pull out another medium bowl and set your apples aside. You must first prepare your oats before you can combine your crust. You will need 2 1/4 cups of oats for this recipe. Oats in the amount of 1 1/4 cups should be added to your blender. The oats should be processed into a fine powder. Combine the oats with the final cup of old-fashioned oats in the bowl. Add the baking powder, cinnamon, and brown sugar after that.

The melted vegetable oil spread should be added after all the ingredients have been thoroughly blended. To help keep the points down, I used light Country Crock for this dish. You may substitute conventional butter for the vegetable oil spread if you’re cooking this as a classic gluten-free apple crumble and still get the same results.

The remaining dry ingredients and butter are mixed together by stirring. The oats should be evenly distributed over your apples once they have been completely combined into the dry mixture. Ensure that they are evenly distributed across the apples.

The gluten-free apple crumble needs 40 minutes in the preheated oven. It’s time to remove it from the oven when the crust is crisp and golden brown. Before serving, let the crumble cool for about 30 minutes. This tasty Weight Watchers meal is gluten-free and may be eaten warm or at room temperature.

Is apple crumble gluten free?

Since traditional apple crumble contains gluten, you’ll need to discover substitutes for the crust in your apple crumble. To make apple crumble gluten-free, this recipe uses ground oats in place of the usual flour.

Even though it’s a great project to complete after a day of apple harvesting with the kids in the fall, there’s really no reason to wait for apple season to create it since apples are readily available all year. Consider serving this dish at the next potluck or as a holiday dessert.
